Judging a Good Cup of Coffee

Most coffee you buy in the store is not very fresh. Coffee should not have a bitter or stale taste to it. It is rather difficult to taste bad coffee without knowing what good coffee taste like. I have known friends who loved coffee but were happy drinking your basic coffee off the shelf. When I introduced them to freshly ground coffee, they were hooked! Fresh coffee typically has a shelf life of up to 2 weeks. I have had coffee sit on my counter for 3-4 weeks, and it still taste ok, but I can definitely notice the difference. I have heard from coffee lovers that it is best to drink freshly roasted coffee on day 2. This gives the beans a chance to “cure” a bit, and it releases the full flavor of the coffee bean.

If you are not sure what good coffee taste like, here is my suggestion. 1) Purchase a pound of my coffee. 2) Purchase, borrow or use up your typically coffee from your local supermarket or Folgers. Try the basic coffee first followed by a cup of my coffee. I think you will find that there is a difference, and you too might be hooked on freshly whole bean coffee forever!
