The best type of grinder is a burr grinder. You can typically find a burr grinder for as little as $35 at Costco. I have had good success with the Krups’ brand. It is consistent and easy to use. If you decide to stick with a blade grinder, you will continue to have an inconsistent cup of coffee. You can find blade grinders probably between $10-30 just about anywhere. The Krups brand runs about $60 from William Sonoma, and it is well worth the cost. The top of the line burr grinders are not worth the investment unless you are in the business.
